Anxiety Therapy in Avondale and Phoenix

Counseling for worry, panic and stress that won't let up, for adults, teens and children. In person or by telehealth, in English and Spanish.

When Worry Takes Up Too Much Room

Anxiety can involve persistent worry, fear, nervousness, restlessness, physical activation, or difficulty controlling anxious thoughts. Occasional anxiety is part of life, but anxiety that is intense, persistent, or disruptive may benefit from professional support.

Therapy offers a place to understand what's driving the anxiety and to build skills that make it more manageable, so it has less say in how you live.

What Anxiety Can Look Like

Anxiety shows up in our thoughts, in the body and in what we do. People often describe:

  • Worry that's hard to switch off
  • A racing heart, tight chest, upset stomach or tense muscles
  • Trouble sleeping or relaxing
  • Avoiding situations that feel stressful
  • Irritability, restlessness or feeling on edge

How Therapy Can Help

You and your clinician set goals that matter to you. Therapy for anxiety may include:

  • Noticing the thoughts and patterns that keep anxiety going
  • Calming skills for the body, like slower breathing and grounding
  • Facing avoided situations gradually, with support
  • A plan for stressful moments
  • Practicing new responses between sessions

Approaches We May Use

Depending on your needs and your clinician's training, anxiety care may draw on approaches like these. Which ones fit is talked through during intake.
